Before you begin….
Applying for a WALK Friendly Community designation will require collaboration across municipal departments and with community partners. The application is comprehensive, with more than 200 questions. Don’t leave it until the last minute!
Please read the information on Scoring found in the Application Guide before you begin so that you have a good understanding of what we’re looking for in your responses. The Guide also contains all of the questions found in the online application, rationales and resources to assist you in your work.

Creating Your Account
When you click on the APPLY NOW link below, you will find instructions to “Create new Account” on the WALK Friendly Ontario Applicant Login page. Only one account should be created for each community applying for designation. The username and password that you use to create your account can be shared with colleagues working collaboratively on your community’s application.
Once you create your account profile you can log in to access the application. See the menu on the left and click on “Access Application” to start a new application or edit an existing one. You can continue to save your work in the application by clicking on the “Save” button at the bottom of the page – save often! Be sure to Logout of the application and don’t close the window until you are prompted by the pop-up to “Leave this page.” Do not submit your application until it is complete.
If you are re-applying for a designation (e.g., previously received an honourable mention), or are completing an application that was previously started, you may use the same username and password to access your existing application. If you have forgotten your password, please follow the instructions to get a new one.
